Abstract

The article "The Crucifixion and the Rāsa Maṇḍala" by Graham M. Schweig compares Christian and Vaishnava symbols of divine love. Both Christ’s crucifixion and Krishna’s rāsa dance are examined as aesthetic expressions of self-giving, intimacy, and transcendence. Schweig offers a theology of sacred emotion uniting both traditions.
